Taking the scenic route back to Ohio one spring (April 2017), I stopped over near Kearney, Nebraska for several days to immerse myself in one of this world's greatest migrations. Eighty percent of all the cranes in the world funnel through an eighty mile stretch of the Platte River during 6-8 weeks each spring. We are talking 400,000-600,000 birds! Truly amazing!
